Do you know that beside Akbar's Din-i-Ilahi, there was another combination packed community consisting of the best of Vaishnavism and Islam? Tucked away in the lesser known corner of Madhya Pradesh in Panna is the Prannath Temple belonging to the Krishna Pranami community of Hinduism. The unique aspect of this sect is that it includes both the best of Hinduism and Islam. Mahamati Prannath was it's greatest saint and he was also the gutu to Bundela chief Chhatrashaal who defeated Aurangzeb most of the times. Prannath had traveled to West Asia and and attended many important Hindu religious fairs like Kumbh mela. He spent his last 11 years of his life in Panna. After his death, Chhatrashaal helped in expanding the philosophical ideals of Prannath. Prannath temple and entire Padmavati Dhaam was built by him. Presently, there are 1 crore followers of Krishna Pranami across India, in Gujrat, MP, Bihar, HP. This temple is one of the major attractions beside Panna National Park.
